Ms. Metzel is a partner in Benesch’s Litigation, Real Estate & Environmental, Transportation & Logistics and China Practice Groups. She focuses her practice on complex commercial and "bet the company" litigation, including shareholder and corporate governance disputes, fraud, RICO, land use, construction, shareholder derivative suits, business torts, supply chain, class actions, product liability, trade secrets and non-compete disputes. Ms. Metzel represents both corporate and individual clients in federal and state courts and before local and state administrative bodies and agencies. She has extensive experience negotiating resolutions in complex business, personal and transactional matters and is involved in many aspects of development and strategic consulting for businesses seeking to invest and grow in Indiana and around the United States. Ms. Metzel strongly encourages a cooperative dialogue among government and industry leaders and is actively engaged in the ongoing effort to enable businesses to succeed in a competitive global marketplace.
In October of 2015, Ms. Metzel was elected as vice president of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) for 2015-16. Her term will expire in October 2016, after which she will become president-elect and then president of the ISBA. As president, she will represent the single largest legal organization in the state.
In August of 2011, Ms. Metzel was appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court and presently continues to serve on the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.
