Alan Rothenbuecher handles complex business litigation involving trade secrets, false advertising, business torts and infringement. In particular, he has extensive experience in prosecuting and defending trade secret misappropriation claims in the design, manufacture, sale and marketing of numerous products and technologies. His trade secret practice is a nationwide practice, leading to Alan having been selected to chair the American Bar Association’s trade secret subcommittee for several years.
Alan also has a significant immigration practice, where he regularly consults businesses on strategies for employing foreign nationals, as well as assisting international personnel in obtaining work authorizations. Often his immigration practice finds him appearing in U.S. Immigration Court, defending employers against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) audits and training human resource professionals on best practices regarding I-9 compliance and E-Verify employment verification requirements.
Alan is also actively involved in trade associations and has developed significant industry experience in the plastics industry, in general, and additive manufacturing (3D printing), in particular. He serves on the Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors and the American Mold Builders Association, where he serves on the board of directors and as general counsel of these national associations managed by business leaders, and also on the International Medical Graduate Taskforce, where he works on behalf of hospitals and healthcare professionals on immigration issues. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Association, is fluent in German and is recognized by Martindale-Hubble as an AV Peer Review Rated attorney and by Thomson Reuters as an Ohio Super Lawyer.
