Elizabeth Batts is an associate in Benesch’s Litigation Practice Group. She litigates a broad range of intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and domain name disputes. Elizabeth also has experience litigating against patent assertion entities (“PAEs”), both as an in-house attorney and as outside counsel. She is well-versed in their litigation strategy and tactics, and she pursues creative ways to minimize the costs associated with litigating against PAEs.

As an attorney registered before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Elizabeth counsels clients on securing and protecting patent and trademark rights to build robust intellectual property portfolios that maximize clients’ business strategies. She drafts and prosecutes both U.S. and international patent and trademark applications for cutting-edge technologies. Elizabeth also prepares patentability, invalidity, non-infringement opinions, and right-to-market studies.
