DeRue Joins Benesch

Benesch/Dann Pecar is pleased to announce that Thomas J. DeRue, Jr. has joined the firm as an associate in the Real Estate & Environmental Practice Group.

Mr. DeRue's practice focuses on real estate and corporate transactions. His experience includes real estate financing, joint ventures, leasing, and development agreements, as well as health care facility development and public-private agreements. Mr. DeRue began his legal career at a large Indianapolis firm. He later served as Indianapolis’ Legislative Director for the construction of Lucas Oil Stadium and the expanded Indiana Convention Center and most recently was a corporate attorney for the healthcare division of Duke Realty Corporation.

The Benesch/Dann Pecar Real Estate & Environmental Practice Group continues to be recognized throughout the Midwest and nationally for its leadership and excellence in the field. Benesch/Dann Pecar represents a diverse list of buyers, sellers, business owners and others in a full range of services, from organizing and structuring the largest, most complex transactions around the globe to advising clients in daily portfolio management and environmental compliance, regulatory and liability issues. Additionally, seven attorneys in the group are members of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), an organization which offers membership to attorneys by invitation only and recognizes those attorneys for their outstanding skill, experience and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law. No other firm under 200 attorneys has seven members of ACREL.

Mr. DeRue received his B.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis.
