Overview


Ashley Monzel advises healthcare providers, investors and healthcare platforms on a wide range of transactional, regulatory and compliance matters. She helps physician practices, private equity sponsors, hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers, dental organizations and other healthcare businesses manage the complex legal and regulatory issues that arise in transactions, growth initiatives and day-to-day operations.

Ashley assists clients throughout the full lifecycle of healthcare transactions, from regulatory diligence and transaction structuring through closing, compliance and post-closing operational matters. She supports mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions and regulatory reviews, helping clients evaluate issues involving the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, corporate practice of medicine requirements, licensing obligations, physician compensation arrangements, billing and coding concerns and other healthcare compliance challenges.

She also advises on healthcare regulatory and operational matters, including state healthcare transaction notification and approval requirements, regulatory inquiries, self-disclosures and ongoing compliance obligations. Clients appreciate her collaborative and approachable style and attention to detail. With experience spanning transactional, operational and regulatory matters, Ashley provides practical guidance tailored to each client’s needs.

Ashley joined the firm from McGuireWoods, where she handled healthcare transactional and regulatory matters. Before entering private practice, she gained firsthand exposure to healthcare operations through work with healthcare providers and payors, experience that informs her understanding of the business and regulatory challenges healthcare organizations face.
