Economic Growth and Development Team

Over the last year, Congress has enacted a series of laws profoundly altering the American economy and government’s role in economic activity. The federal legislation has included the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (creating the Troubled Asset Relief Program), and the recent American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (the "Stimulus Bill"). According to the Obama Administration, these measures are only the beginning of further legislative initiatives designed to transform the American economy.

The State of Ohio has already embarked on a parallel path with the 2008 enactment of Am Sub. H.B. 545 designed to stimulate Ohio's economy. Further "stimulus provisions" are likely to be included in future legislation, such as Ohio's 2009-2010 budget bill.
