Benesch is pleased to announce that Barbara A. Lum is one of 19 lawyers nationwide to be selected for a “Best Under 40” Award by The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).
NAPABA represents the interests of over 50,000 Asian Pacific American attorneys and over 80 national, state, and local bar associations. Its members include solo practitioners, large firm lawyers, corporate counsel, legal services and non-profit attorneys, and lawyers serving at all levels of government.
Barbara will be officially recognized for this award at the 2018 NAPABA Convention in Chicago in November. Each November, NAPABA recognizes talented individuals in the Asian Pacific American legal community who have achieved prominence and distinction in their respective fields — be it the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics — and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian Pacific American civic or community affairs.
Barbara is a partner in Benesch's Litigation Practice Group and has extensive experience defending clients in product liability and mass tort litigation, putative class actions, personal injury cases, and long-term care and nursing home litigation. She provides counsel on risk mitigation and avoidance strategies, as well as product warnings and instructions, warranties, and commercial terms and conditions. Barbara was a four-year President of the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio, sits on the NAPABA Board of Governors as an At Large Board member, and co-chairs the NAPABA’s Young Lawyers Network.
