Numerous media outlets are reporting that the supporters of the Ohio Healthy Families Act have reversed course and will end their efforts to have the Act appear on the November ballot. Although there has been no official statement, apparently the supporters have agreed to Governor Strickland's request not to go forward with the initiative this November. Clearly, this is welcome news to the Ohio business community. In all likelihood the issue of paid sick days will arise again, but for now the ballot initiative appears dead. Further updates will be forthcoming.
