Traps for Unwary Ohio Employers | Joseph N. Gross and Christopher W. Pendleton

Benesch 2022 Labor & Employment Series
Firm Events
Speakers : Joseph N. Gross, Christopher W. Pendleton

As Ohio companies hire increasingly more out-of-state employees, it is important that they avoid the various pitfalls of other state and local employment laws. In this webinar, we will discuss a variety of topics, including state exceptions to “at-will” employment, state non-compete laws, state family and medical leave laws, pre-employment screening and drug testing employees in the face of more lenient state marijuana laws, and state requirements at the time of termination. We will also provide best practices in light of the varying requirements surrounding these topics.

This program is approved for 1.0 hours of CLE credit in California. Benesch plans to apply for CLE credit in Illinois and Ohio. Upon CLE approval in Illinois, Benesch can offer reciprocal credit for those seeking CLE in New York and New Jersey. PDCs (professional development credits) will be awarded towards SHRM recertification for this program.
