Alex focuses his practice on private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions across a wide range of industries. Alex works closely with clients through all stages of the transactional process, including post-transaction corporate governance and commercial contract matters.
Alex works with clients ranging from smaller private clients to larger public companies in Chicago and around the country. In addition to his M&A work, Alex has represented private equity sponsors, independent sponsors, institutional lenders and individuals in other types of corporate transactions, including minority investments, co-investments and equity financings.

- Represented Alpine Investors and its portfolio company Ascend, a provider of practice management services to accounting businesses, in an add-on acquisition.
- Represented a private equity buyer in its acquisition of a wholesale distributor of pipes, valves, and fittings.
- Represented Honeycomb Battery Company, an electric vehicle battery technology company carved out from its parent Global Graphene Group, Inc., in its completed business combination with Nubia Brand International Corp., a special purpose acquisition company, to form a new Nasdaq-listed company known as Solidion Technology, Inc., including restricted securities issuances and corporate governance matters.
- Represented a private equity fund in its acquisition of a distributor and installer of garage and overhead doors and related products.
- Represented a seller and distributor of welding equipment, materials and supplies in its sale to a global supplier of industrial gases and welding supplies.
- Represented Ascend, a portfolio company of Wellspring Capital Management, in its acquisition of Dedicated Transportation Solutions, a provider of dedicated contract carriage and truckload carriage services.
- Represented American Expediting, a portfolio company of AEA Investors, in its acquisition of Crosstown Courier, a provider of courier transportation services throughout Tennessee.
- Represented Slate Capital Group in its acquisition of a majority stake in Nova Technologies, a leading provider of technology and support for military training systems.
- Represented a pharmacy transportation and logistics company in its sale of assets to a subsidiary of an internationally publicly traded company.
- Represented Yusen Logistics in its acquisition of Taylored Services, a multichannel third-party logistics fulfillment organization, from private equity firm Saybrook.
