Benesch Partner Juan Morado Jr. Named a 2025 Business Leader of Color by Chicago United

Press Releases

Benesch is pleased to announce that Juan Morado Jr., a partner in the firm’s Healthcare+ Practice Group, has been named a 2025 Business Leader of Color (BLC) by Chicago United. This highly competitive and prestigious recognition is awarded every two years to a select group of visionary and talented executives who are shaping Chicago’s business landscape. This year, 49 leaders were honored.

Now in its 11th cycle, the BLC program honors accomplished professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, championed diversity and inclusion, and made a meaningful difference in their organizations and communities. Honorees are recognized as board-ready and prepared to step into corporate governance roles. Since 2003, the program has recognized 515 influential leaders who have collectively served in nearly 500 corporate board positions.

In his legal practice, Juan advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, pharmacies and other healthcare clients on regulatory compliance and policy matters. Widely regarded as one of Illinois’ leading Certificate of Need (CON) attorneys, he has helped clients establish new hospitals, surgery centers and nursing homes, and has secured regulatory approval for multi-million-dollar ownership changes. Prior to joining Benesch, Juan served as General Counsel for the Health Facilities and Services Review Board of the State of Illinois.

Additionally, Juan serves as Co-Chair of Benesch’s DEI Committee and is deeply involved in the community. He is the Board Director and Vice-President of La Casa Norte, a Chicago-based organization that provides housing for children and families facing homelessness. He is also Chair Emeritus of the Latino Leadership Council and holds board positions with the Metropolitan Pier Exposition Authority, Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, HLAI Charities and the We CAN Achieve Foundation.
