Stephanie Sheridan and Meegan Brooks Mentioned in Law360 on Dismissal of Lowe’s Class Actions

Media Mentions

Stephanie Sheridan, Chair of Benesch's Retail & E-Commerce Practice Group, and Partner Meegan Brooks were mentioned in Law360 for their representation of Lowe’s in two proposed consumer class actions dismissed in North Carolina federal court.

Plaintiffs alleged Lowe’s misled customers with false discount pricing but U.S. District Judge Kenneth D. Bell ruled they lacked Article III standing, citing TransUnion LLC v. Ramirez. The court held that speculative disappointment over not getting a “deal” is not a concrete injury and plaintiffs’ individual claims did not meet the $75,000 threshold for federal jurisdiction.
