Benesch is pleased to announce that Meegan Brooks, partner in the firm’s Litigation and Retail & E-Commerce practice groups, has been named a 2025 Rising Star by Law360 in the Class Action category.
The annual Rising Stars program honors top attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments stand out among their peers. This year’s honorees were selected from more than 1,100 submissions spanning 80 law firms and 34 practice areas, and Meegan was one of just five attorneys chosen in the Class Action category.
Selection to this distinguished list is highly competitive and based on an attorney’s impact on major litigation, notable career achievements and contributions to the legal profession. Rising Stars are recognized as emerging leaders shaping the future of the legal industry.
Meegan is a seasoned litigator who has spent her career defending retailers, e-commerce companies and manufacturers. She has played a key role in numerous industry-shaping decisions, including significant wins before the Ninth Circuit, California Court of Appeals and New Jersey Supreme Court. She is especially well-known for her decade-long work defending over 70 actions related to pricing, promotions and fees, which includes defending the only pricing case to go to trial in the last decade (where her team won), the only pricing case to win on the merits at summary judgment and the only pricing case to have a dismissal affirmed at the Ninth Circuit.
In addition to her litigation work, Meegan advises retailers and media clients on marketing and privacy matters, including compliance with wiretapping laws, VPPA, FACTA and similar statutes. She also serves as outside marketing counsel to national brands, advising on pricing policies, loyalty programs, return terms and sweepstakes rules.
Meegan has been recognized as a Daily Journal “Top 40 Under 40,” a Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyer and one of The Best Lawyers in America “Ones to Watch” in Commercial Litigation. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
