Their session, “What to Do Now About International Trade Compliance: 2025 News Headlines Edition,” offered timely insight into recent legal developments and compliance risks amid ongoing global trade volatility.
In a week that saw a federal court ruling on Trump-era tariffs followed by an appeals court pause and a new tariff announcement on steel imports, Todd noted, “It’s the kind of week that keeps supply chain people up at night.” He also remarked, “So, consider this group therapy. We’ll all get through it.”
The group discussed three major compliance risk areas: imports, exports and sanctions. They also emphasized the need for proactive risk assessments, stakeholder training and adaptable compliance processes. As Todd put it, visibility and diligence are essential for “staying out of the headlines.”
