As Benesch continues to grow nationwide, the firm has announced the hiring of an associate in its Chicago office.
The firm welcomes Sara Agate to the Health Care and Life Sciences Practice Group. Agate’s collaborative approach and past professional experience in government, health policy, and emerging technologies, such as telehealth will support Benesch’s health care industry clients in developing compliance strategies and innovative solutions in a rapidly-changing regulatory landscape.
“Sara is an outstanding addition to our team. Her practice focuses on counseling clients, such as academic health centers and their associated providers, regarding their regulatory compliance, ethics, data privacy and security needs, especially as related to clinical research and emerging technologies such as telemedicine,” said David Pope, Chicago Administrative Partner. “Sara will be a great asset to the firm and our clients.”
She graduated cum laude from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. She also holds two degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Prior to entering private practice, Agate interned in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, served as a Health Graduate Fellow in Congress through the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, and worked as a clinical research coordinator at UIC.
The announcement of Agate’s hiring comes on the heels of Benesch moving to a new home in Chicago. The new office space, located at 71 S. Wacker Dr., takes on a 64,000 sq. foot space, and is ready to house approximately 90 attorneys.
Agate is joining Benesch’s Chicago office during a time of significant growth for the firm. More than 80 attorneys have joined the firm in the last 18 months. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 19 places and is currently ranked at number 176.
