August 19, 2025
Benesch was featured in Crain’s Cleveland Business for being named the largest law firm in Northeast Ohio by headcount. The firm now has over 180 attorneys in its Cleveland office and more than 460 attorneys firmwide.

“It feels special because Cleveland has been our home since 1938,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Benesch’s Managing Partner, who has led the firm since 2015. “We started here, and it remains our headquarters to this day. We love this city and have a tremendous amount of pride working here in Cleveland.”
Over the past year, Benesch has grown by more than 50 attorneys and boasts an attorney retention rate of approximately 85%. Gregg noted, “Our strategy has not been to do a combination but to hire laterals in our core practice areas that add to our bench, make us even deeper as a law firm and fit our culture.” Looking ahead, the firm expects continued growth through the rest of the year across its offices, fueled by increased client demand.
