Benesch Ranked #96 Among 100 U.S. Companies Recognized for Outstanding Employee Sentiment and Satisfaction
Benesch, one of the fastest-growing AmLaw 200 law firms, is pleased to announce that Newsweek has named the firm a Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces® in America – just one of two law firms to be included on the list. The 2023 Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces® are the result of a collaboration with leadership development and benchmark research company Best Practice Institute (BPI). Final rankings were determined after surveying more than 1.4 million employees from businesses with workforces varying in size from 50 to more than 100,000.
“One of our top priorities is ensuring that our team feels valued, respected and inspired,” said Benesch Chief Human Resource Officer Liz Gillmore. “We are so proud to receive this recognition alongside many of the most well-known and esteemed employers in the country by a publication as respected as Newsweek. This is validation of the firm’s strategy and commitment to fostering an environment where people can be themselves, do their best work and know that they will be supported personally and professionally.”
Among the benefits Benesch offers to employees, Newsweek highlighted the firm’s parental leave of up to 26 weeks (20 paid), fertility benefits (up to $50,000) and out-of-state medical travel reimbursement benefit of up to $5,000 covering room and board, mileage or other transportation, child care and meals.
“This law firm puts real money into family-friendliness,” noted Newsweek.
Other benefits offered by Benesch include a flexible hybrid work model, mental health support through Lyra, child care support and a newly added pet insurance benefit.
“Investing in our people is a fundamental part of our business model,” said Benesch Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg. “We believe that creating an outstanding experience for our team ultimately leads to an outstanding experience for our clients. We are truly honored to be recognized as a Top 100 Most Loved Workplace®, which we believe is a testament to the genuine investment we have made in making Benesch a place where people love to work.”
The key components included in the Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces® analysis are based on how well companies demonstrate the areas within the Spark Model as defined by BPI including:
- Systemic collaboration
- Positive vision of the future
- Alignment of values
- Respect
- Killer achievement
“With the rapidly changing workplace and competition for top talent, more companies are recognizing the importance of employee engagement and commitment”, said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief, Newsweek. “The workplaces that have demonstrated a commitment to their employees in 2023 are more likely to attract the best talent and deliver strong business outcomes.”
Employee sentiments and emotions indicating how engaged employees are, how positive they feel about their workplace and how committed they are to the organization’s success were analyzed to identify the Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces.
“Fully understanding and acting upon employee sentiment, emotion and recommendations continues to be a challenge and top priority of executive leadership,” said Louis Carter, CEO of Best Practice Institute. “The companies on this list have committed to listening carefully to their employees to create a workplace employees love.”

Methodology
To identify the top 100 companies for the Newsweek ranking, companies were evaluated and scored as follows: 35 percent of the initial score was based on employee survey responses; 25 percent was derived from analysis of external public ratings from sites such as Comparably, Careerbliss, Glassdoor, Indeed and Google; and 40 percent came from direct interviews with and written responses from company officials. Newsweek then conducted additional research into every company on the list, as well as the top runners up, to determine the final list of 100 companies and their ranking. (The list includes both U.S. firms and companies with a strong U.S. presence that are based overseas.)
