Benesch Welcomes Partner Megan Ratia to the Firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group
January 9, 2025
Benesch, one of the fastest-growing firms on the AmLaw 200 list, is pleased to announce the addition of Megan Ratia as a partner in its Corporate & Securities Practice Group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Megan to the firm,” said Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg. “Her extensive background in corporate transactions and strategic advisory for investors and companies is a tremendous asset. Megan’s work in M&A, joint ventures and growth equity transactions, especially in the technology and real estate sectors, enhances our firm’s capabilities and commitment to client success.”
Megan advises investors and companies of all stages in connection with corporate transactions. The breadth of her practice allows her to offer strategic, market-based advice to operating companies looking to scale their businesses while lending her investor clients a pragmatic perspective on transactional risk and deal negotiations.
Megan serves as primary counsel to both domestic and international clients in connection with M&A, joint ventures and venture and growth equity transactions. She regularly advises private equity sponsors in connection with a broad range of U.S. investments, with a particular focus on the technology, consumer products and services, and real estate industries.
In addition, Megan advises operating companies at all phases of their life cycle— from fundraising and commercial partnerships through exit transactions. In this role, she enjoys serving as a day-to-day partner to her clients in connection with critical business transactions, corporate governance issues, key commercial relationships, intellectual property matters and employment issues.
Prior to joining Benesch, Megan was a partner at Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg LLP. She holds a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in Politics, magna cum laude, from New York University. Megan has been recognized as “One to Watch” in Mergers & Acquisitions Law by Best Lawyers® (2024-2025) and was named among the 2024 Notable Women in Law by Crain’s Chicago Business.
