Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of New York is facing a lawsuit accusing it of listing out-of-network providers in its directories to fake compliance with network adequacy laws. This practice, known as “ghost networks,” can deter patients from seeking care or increase their costs.
Illinois state Rep. Bob Morgan commented, “Everyone should expect and anticipate that these types of class actions are going to happen throughout the country.”
