Margo Wolf O’Donnell, Co-Chair of Benesch’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, was quoted in Bloomberg Law discussing the compliance risks employers face when offering reduced salaries for remote or flexible work arrangements.
Addressing the rise in related litigation, Margo noted, “Plaintiffs’ attorneys are creative, and they know that working remotely and requests to return to work are issues we’re seeing a lot.”
She advises employers to review federal, state and local requirements before making compensation changes tied to flexible arrangements and to ensure that job descriptions clearly outline in-person expectations.
