Benesch Partner Juan Morado Jr. Named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2024 Notable Latino Leaders
November 19, 2024
Benesch is proud to announce that Juan Morado Jr., Partner in the Healthcare Practice Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s DEI Committee, has been recognized as one of Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2024 Notable Latino Leaders. This prestigious honor highlights Latino professionals in the Chicago area who have made substantial contributions to their professions and communities, showcasing their dedication to excellence.
Nominees for this recognition are selected through a competitive screening process. Candidates must hold senior leadership positions, have at least ten years of experience and demonstrate a proven track record of achievements that have made a lasting impact.
“Juan exemplifies what it means to be a true leader—someone who excels in his profession while also giving back to his community. His exceptional work on behalf of clients and his leadership within our DEI Committee have elevated our firm in countless ways,” said Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg.
In his legal practice, Juan provides counsel to hospitals, health systems, physician groups, pharmacies, cannabis businesses and other clients, ensuring compliance with complex regulatory frameworks. Recognized as one of Illinois’ leading Certificate of Need (CON) attorneys, he has helped clients establish new hospitals, surgery centers, and nursing homes and secure regulatory approval for multi-million-dollar ownership changes. He also advises clients on internal and government investigations, disadvantaged business enterprises and government procurement litigation.
As Co-Chair of Benesch’s DEI Committee, Juan executes the firm’s multiyear DEI strategic plan, focused on increasing diverse representation through intentional recruiting, equitable policies and mentorship programs. These efforts have led to Benesch earning Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification.
Additionally, Juan is deeply committed to community service. He serves as Board Director and Vice-President of La Casa Norte, a Chicago-based organization supporting children and families facing homelessness. He is also Chair Emeritus of the Latino Leadership Council and holds positions on several prominent boards, including the Metropolitan Pier Exposition Authority, Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Rules, the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, HLAI Charities and the We CAN Achieve Foundation.
