Private credit and debt funds have fundamentally changed the marketplace. They have stepped into the financing gap left by traditional banks, become a major source of rescue capital, recapitalizations, bridge financing and loan acquisitions, and, in many circumstances, they have become the primary drivers of how distress is resolved.
