Benesch Adds Accomplished Litigator Anna Terteryan to its San Francisco Litigation Powerhouse
October 27, 2025
Benesch is pleased to welcome Anna Terteryan as a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in its rapidly growing San Francisco office. A commercial litigator and trial lawyer with over a decade of experience, Anna focuses her practice on high-stakes, complex commercial matters for industry-leading clients across a wide range of regulated industries.
“Anna’s blend of trial experience, business acumen and collaborative approach aligns perfectly with how we serve our clients,” said Litigation Practice Group Managing Chair Erik Connolly. “She’s a valuable addition to our team and will play an important role as we continue expanding our litigation capabilities in San Francisco and across the firm.”
“Benesch stood out to me for its service-first approach and infectious team spirit,” said Anna. “That energy draws top-tier legal talent to the firm and empowers us to deliver exceptional results for our clients. I’m thrilled to join this dynamic team as we expand our San Francisco presence and continue to fuel the firm’s rocketing success.”
Anna is known for her strategic counsel and versatility in litigating complex cases across diverse subject matters and logistical challenges. She represents clients in securities and financial litigation, multidistrict litigation and class actions, unfair competition cases, and a variety of contract and other commercial disputes. Her experience also extends to trade secret cases, antitrust enforcement, mass torts, product liability, contested bankruptcy proceedings and appellate matters. Additionally, Anna has counseled clients on compliance matters and in connection with government and internal investigations.
Among her notable matters, Anna defended technology companies in shareholder securities class actions challenging their multibillion-dollar take-private transactions, repeatedly securing dismissal of all claims in federal court. She also represented bp and its affiliates in litigation arising from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico—one of the most significant mass tort and environmental cases in modern history—where she and her team won dismissal of hundreds of claims on procedural, pleading and evidentiary grounds.
Prior to joining Benesch, Anna was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University.
