Benesch Adds BigLaw Corporate Partner Kyle Gillen to Growing Chicago Office

Benesch, one of the fastest-growing firms on the AmLaw 200 list, welcomes Kyle Gillen as a Partner in its Chicago office. Kyle joins Benesch’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group as Chair of the Private Equity Finance practice group. He brings with him extensive experience in debt finance, banking, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), leveraged buyouts and private equity.

Prior to joining Benesch, Kyle was a Partner at DLA Piper. He specializes in debt financing transactions, advising private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and private companies on structuring, negotiating and executing transactions across the capital structure. His knowledge spans senior, mezzanine and subordinated debt transactions, as well as acquisition financings, loan workouts and restructurings. Representing both investors and borrowers, Kyle offers a balanced and pragmatic approach to handling complex transactions.

Kyle holds a J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. While at law school, he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He also earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Kyle has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Illinois Rising Star from 2018 to 2023, underscoring his talent and growing reputation in the legal field.
