As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm is pleased to welcome Partner Kevin W. Humphries to the Corporate & Securities Practice Group in Chicago and Columbus.
A trusted business attorney with over a decade of experience, Kevin advises publicly and privately held companies on a broad range of matters, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, and other strategic transactions and general corporate matters.
“Kevin is a great addition to the Corporate & Securities team,” said Gregg Eisenberg, Managing Partner, and Executive Committee Member. “His focus on complex transactions across sectors bolsters the already robust suite of services we offer our corporate clients.” Throughout his career, Kevin has represented both leading and emerging private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as Fortune 500 companies, and has substantial experience in software, healthcare, consumer retail, manufacturing, and industrial transactions, among others.
In addition, Kevin also has substantial experience representing institutional investors on fund investments and co-investments, and previously served as lead counsel to the Alternative Investments department STRS Ohio, an $88 billion public pension fund, where he assisted with structuring, negotiating and documenting transactions exceeding $3.5 billion and helped establish the fund’s direct and co-investment programs.
Kevin joins Benesch from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner in the corporate group. He received his Juris Doctor and M.A. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A. from The Ohio State University.
Kevin is one of 23 new attorneys to join Benesch so far this year. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, Benesch has advanced 37 places and is currently ranked at number 158.
