Building upon its commitment to growth on the West Coast, Benesch is pleased to welcome Sydney Allen as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in San Francisco.
Sydney is an experienced defense litigator. Prior to joining Benesch, Sydney was an associate at a San Francisco boutique law firm where her practice focused on civil defense litigation, business counseling, and the representation of lawyers and judges in state misconduct investigations. She regularly counseled clients on legal ethics, risk management, compliance, professional liability, and general business matters.
Sydney earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law from the University of Southern California. While attending law school, she served as a Senior Staff Member of The George Washington University Law School Federal Circuit Bar Journal and as the Authority Editor of the Nota Bene (a student-run law magazine).
In addition to her studies, she served as a criminal procedure research assistant, and a law clerk at several federal government agencies, including the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. She also served as a certified law clerk at the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Sydney currently serves as a director on the Barristers Club of The San Francisco Bar Association’s Board of Directors.
She joins a litigation practice rapidly making a name for itself representing top-tier companies in high-profile matters. The team actively pursues cost-effective outcomes for multinational, publicly held and private companies, for-profit and non-profit boards and municipalities as well as other government lenders, insurers and individuals in alternative dispute resolution forums.
