Benesch Adds Richard Bernet to its Litigation Group in Chicago

Benesch, one of the fastest-growing firms on the AmLaw 200 list, is pleased to announce the addition of Richard “Rick” Bernet as of counsel in the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Chicago office.
Rick is a seasoned regulatory litigator with deep knowledge of the utility industry, including leading billion-dollar efforts on behalf of the largest utility in Illinois that resulted in some of the most significant results in state history. He has a strong track record of successfully achieving regulatory approval of some of the most high-profile and controversial infrastructure projects in Illinois.
Prior to joining Benesch, Rick was an Assistant General Counsel at Commonwealth Edison Company. Rick holds a B.S. in Business from Eastern Illinois University and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
Benesch has pursued an ambitious national growth strategy in recent years, expanding 190% in Chicago alone since 2018. In 2023, the firm added 83 lateral hires nationwide.
