Benesch Adds Veteran Corporate Partner Robert Goldstein to New York Office

June 17, 2026

Benesch is pleased to announce that Robert Goldstein has joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group as a partner in its New York office. A seasoned transactional attorney with more than 30 years of experience in middle-market private equity transactions, Rob has a track record spanning hundreds of deals with an aggregate enterprise value exceeding $50 billion.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rob to Benesch,” said Doug DiMedio, co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. “He brings exceptional commercial insight and a wealth of deal experience that will bolster our practice as we continue to expand our capabilities and presence in New York.”

“I was drawn to Benesch because of the firm’s exponential growth in middle and lower middle market private equity transactions,” said Rob. “Its commitment to being a leader in this space, while providing top-tier service to investment firms of all sizes at commercial rates, makes it a compelling platform for my practice.”

Rob’s practice centers on guiding private equity firms and their portfolio companies through every stage of the transaction lifecycle, from target selection and due diligence to deal structuring, execution and exit. He advises clients not only on mergers and acquisitions, carve-out transactions, debt and equity financings, restructurings, distressed asset acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance, but also on broader business and legal issues that arise throughout the life of an investment, including risk management, management transitions and other strategic matters.

Additionally, Rob serves as outside general counsel to investment funds, portfolio companies and multinational corporations across a range of industries, including retail, consumer products, healthcare and industrials. He regularly counsels executive leadership teams, boards and sponsors on transaction strategy, governance considerations and the practical legal issues that can affect value creation and exit planning.

Prior to joining Benesch, Rob was a shareholder at Vedder Price. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and his B.A. from Columbia University.
