Benesch Announces Largest Partner Class as Law360 Analysis Highlights Regional Shifts in Mid-Law Promotions
March 16, 2026
A recent Law360 Pulse analysis reveals shifting trends in partner promotions at Mid-Law firms across the United States, with overall numbers declining but notable regional differences. The study, which reviewed announcements from 98 Mid-Law firms between December and February, found the average partnership class size dropped to 4.5, down from 4.7 the previous year and nearly 20 percent lower than 2022.
While the Northeast and Southeast saw the sharpest declines in new partner promotions, the Midwest and West Coast experienced increases. Among Mid-Law firms tracked by Law360, Benesch had the largest partner class, promoting 16 attorneys, including nine in its Ohio base. Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg noted this is the largest partner class in the firm’s history and includes both lateral and homegrown attorneys, as well as lawyers across all of the firm’s key practice areas.
“We’re really delighted by the talent in that group, and very excited to have them as partners in our firm and not only taking their practices to the next level but enhancing our firm,” Eisenberg said.
