Benesch Attorneys Manish Mehta and Juan Morado, Jr. Named to 2018 “Most Notable Minority Lawyer” List by Crain’s Chicago Business

Benesch is pleased to announce that Manish Mehta and Juan Morado, Jr. have been honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as two of the magazine’s 2018 “Most Notable Minority Lawyers.”

The second annual list celebrates 58 men and women who represent a cross-section of the Chicago-area legal community, many of whom have practiced with distinction for decades.

Juan is a health care regulatory and policy attorney with extensive experience in working with state and federal agencies, and providing strategic counsel to private and public corporations, organizations, and individuals. He advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, consulting firms, pharmacies, and other clients, helping them to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement industry best practices.

In June, Juan was elected president of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois (HLAI). The HLAI is an Affiliate of the Hispanic National Bar Association, a nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the United States and its territories.

Manish focuses his legal practice on intellectual property litigation, and patent prosecution and counseling. He has represented clients from a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automotive, e-commerce, chemical, and computer software and hardware.

A past president of the Indian American Bar Association of Chicago, Manish currently serves on the organization’s Advisory Council. He has been selected as a Rising Star in Intellectual Property work for each of the last four years by Illinois Super Lawyers, an organization that recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys. Manish is a frequent speaker and advisor on IP and business law topics, appearing at industry conferences throughout the United States and in India.
