Benesch is pleased to announce that partners Michael Barrie, Manish Mehta and Stephanie Sheridan have been newly elected to the law firm’s Executive Committee.
Barrie, Mehta, and Sheridan will each serve a three-year term, joining four returning members, along with Firm Managing Partner Gregg Eisenberg, Administrative Partner Jeff Wild and Executive Chairman Ira Kaplan, on the ten-member board charged with stewarding the firm and guiding its overall strategic direction.
“Mike, Manish and Stephanie bring new perspectives and an additional depth of talent to the Executive Committee. I look forward to their assistance in propelling our growth and bolstering our success in this fast-moving and competitive market,” said Eisenberg.
Barrie chairs the firm’s Insolvency & Creditors’ Rights Practice Group, and is Vice Chair of the Litigation Practice Group. He focuses his work on complex commercial, real estate, and insolvency and bankruptcy dispute resolution, litigating in Federal and state courts nationwide, including bankruptcy courts and Delaware’s Chancery Court. He has served as lead counsel in dozens of jury trials, bench trials, evidentiary hearings, and appeals.
Mehta, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, was named Partner in Charge of the firm’s Chicago office last April. In addition to this leadership role, he maintains a practice focused on intellectual property litigation, post-grant reviews, patent prosecution and counseling. He has represented clients from a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automotive, e-commerce, chemical, and computer software and hardware.
Sheridan recently joined Benesch’s San Francisco office as its Partner in Charge and serves as vice chair of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. One of the preeminent retail and e-commerce attorneys in the country, Sheridan defends and advises dozens of the most iconic retail brands, spanning from luxury brands, department stores, big-box stores, hotels, and restaurants, in addition to many of the country’s most promising start-ups, helping them build and maintain marketplace dominance while proactively addressing the multitude of federal, state and local consumer protection laws.
