Benesch Ranks First in The American Lawyer Summer Associate Survey

CLEVELAND, OHIO – November 1, 2007– Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff LLP announced that the firm ranked #1 in Cleveland, #1 in the state of Ohio and 35th nationally in The American Lawyer Summer Associate Survey.

Benesch’s response rate of 91% included feedback from 10 of the firm’s summer associates.The firm received an overall score of 4.644 on a 5 point scale, with 5 being the highest score possible.

“We are very proud of the survey results, as well as of the hard work of everyone at the firm who contributed to making Benesch’s Summer Associate Program a great success, ” said Jim Hill, Managing Partner of the firm. “We look forward to repeating this achievement in 2008 and in years to come.”

The average of nine job satisfaction questions was used to determine a firm’s overall score. Scoring questions asked how interesting the work was, how much “real” work was assigned, how the training and guidance measured up, how positive interactions with partners and associates were, how well the firm communicated its goals and expectations, how accurately the firm portrayed itself in interviews, and the respondents’ inclination to accept a position if one were offered. The respondents were also asked to rate the firm overall as a place to work.
