Benesch Welcomes Associate to Corporate Team in Chicago

As Benesch continues to add to its roster of top-notch legal talent, the firm is pleased to welcome Associate Ermias Y. Abebe to the Corporate & Securities Practice Group in Chicago.

Ermias advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, as well as to both publicly and privately held companies, on complex transactions. These include mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, carve-outs, leveraged buyouts, and other strategic endeavors. Ermias has also represented private equity sponsors and publicly traded companies in transactions ranging from $15 million to $4.4 billion, spanning both the U.S. and international markets. Additionally, Ermias offers comprehensive counsel on a wide spectrum of general corporate matters and complex commercial arrangements.

Prior to his tenure with Benesch, Ermias was a corporate associate at Winston & Strawn LLP. He also served as Associate Counsel for the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he was the lead international media lawyer, overseeing international media and social media transactions. Ermias earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S. from Virginia Tech University.
