CLEVELAND, OHIO – January 4, 2010 – Benesch announced that Susan E. Clady has been named partner.
Ms. Clady is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. She focuses her practice on trademark, copyright and e-commerce matters, particularly the selection, clearance and adoption of trademarks, and the preparation and prosecution of trademark applications. Ms. Clady has considerable experience with managing trademark portfolios that range in size from a few U.S. trademarks to extensive national and international portfolios containing numerous marks. In protecting clients’ rights, Ms. Clady regularly advises clients regarding trademark and copyright infringement and enforcement issues, including right-to-register and right-to-use advisory opinions, and preparing and responding to cease and desist letters. Ms. Clady has litigated in federal courts, state courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, she negotiates strategic licensing agreements, asset purchase agreements, co-existence agreements, and assignments. Ms. Clady also counsels clients regarding e-commerce matters and domain name selection, acquisition, transfer and disputes. Ms. Clady received her B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in 1993 and her J.D. with honors in law from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law in 1996.
