Benesch is pleased to announce that N. Victor Goodman has been appointed to the State Board of Pharmacy by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.
The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy is the single State agency in Ohio responsible for administering and enforcing laws governing the practice of pharmacy and the legal distribution of drugs. The Board consists of nine members who are appointed by the Governor for terms of four years. Eight of the members are licensed pharmacists who represent, to the extent practicable, each phase of pharmacy practice. One member represents the public. The Board has a staff of 57 employees that is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations and responsibilities of the Board.
Victor has been practicing law for almost 60 years and is a partner in Benesch’s Litigation Practice Group. He focuses his practice on administrative and governmental law, including appeals and civil rights. He also handles labor and employment matters.
Victor has a prolific history of service including an 15-year term on the Ohio Board of Regents from 1976-1990, membership on the Ohio University Board of Trustees from 1994-2001 and 2002-2020, with Chairmanship from 1999-2000, membership on the Ohio University Foundation Board of Trustees from 2001-2010, and was appointed by President Reagan and reappointed by President Bush as a member of the Federal Service Impasses Panel from 1982-1994. Victor was also appointed to the Foreign Service Impasse Disputes Panel by Chair Jean McKee from 1990-1992. In addition, he served as a member of the Board on the Unauthorized Practice of Law of the Ohio Supreme Court, appointed by Chief Justice Thomas Moyer for a three-year term from 2008- 2010 and then reappointed for a three-year term from 2011-2013.
Victor is a graduate of Yale University, where he received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, and the Harvard Law School, where he completed his Juris Doctor. He was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree by Ohio University in 2004.
