November 21, 2023
Benesch is pleased to announce that Partner Frank Carsonie has been selected by Capital University Law School as the 2023 recipient of the prestigious Josiah H. Blackmore Dean’s Award. Frank will be honored at the Capital University Law School Alumni Awards Reception taking place at the school on November 30.
The Josiah H. Blackmore Dean’s Award recognizes outstanding service to the law school and the Dean’s Office. The award is named in honor of Capital University’s former President, Law School Dean and Professor Emeritus Josiah H. Blackmore, whose influence on the history and continued viability of the law school cannot be overstated.
Frank is a 1992 magna cum laude graduate of Capital University Law School. While at Capital, Frank was a recipient of an alumni scholarship, was awarded recognition in the Order of the Curia and served as vice president of Capital’s Student Bar Association and as an articles editor for the Capital University Law Review. Frank is a current member of the Capital University Law School Board of Counselors, recently completing his tenure as president of the board.
In his role at Benesch, Frank is chair of the firm’s Healthcare+ Practice Group. He is the Columbus Office Partner-in-Charge and a former member of the firm’s Executive Committee. When Frank is not leading the Benesch Healthcare + Practice Group and Columbus office, he is fully engaged in advising clients in health care and other regulated industries on transaction, regulatory and compliance matters. Frank’s transactional practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, reorganization, recapitalizations, divestitures, strategic alliances, joint ventures, and capital financings, including private equity and other investor led initiatives. The regulatory and compliance portion of Frank’s practice involves counseling clients on matters of fraud, waste and abuse, HIPAA, government enforcement scrutiny including responses to audits or investigative demands and mitigation of risk.
