Joel Pruett Named to ABA Business Law Section Fellows Program, Class of 2025–2027
June 18, 2025
Benesch is pleased to announce that Managing Associate Joel Pruett, of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group, has been selected for the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section Fellows Program for the 2025–2027 class. His term will begin at the 2025 Business Law Section Fall Meeting and conclude at the close of the 2027 Spring Meeting.
The Business Law Section Fellows Program is designed to cultivate future leaders within the Business Law Section. Fellows are expected to actively engage in committee work and build meaningful connections with Section leaders. The program deepens involvement in substantive initiatives, opens pathways to leadership, and increases awareness of the Section among members of diversity-focused bar organizations.
Earlier this year, Joel was also appointed to the Forward Committee of the New York Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). ACG New York Forward supports young professionals aged 35 and under by providing resources for professional development, with a focus on mid-level professionals engaged in M&A and dealmaking across the Tri-State area.
Joel’s practice centers on corporate transactions, representing strategic buyers and sellers, private equity sponsors, and portfolio companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and equity financings. He advises public and private companies on corporate governance and general business matters, overseeing all stages of complex deals—from term sheets to post-closing—handling document negotiation, due diligence, and risk management strategies, including representations and warranties insurance.
