Benesch is pleased to announce that Juan Morado Jr. has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the firm’s Health Care & Life Sciences Practice Group.
Juan is a health care attorney with an extensive background in the regulatory arena. Prior to joining Benesch, Juan was General Counsel for the Health Facilities and Services Review Board of the State of Illinois. He provided strategic counsel on a wide range of legal matters having state wide ramifications, developed administrative rules governing the certificate of need process, and managed the Board’s Long-Term Care Advisory Subcommittee.
“Juan brings with him in-depth hands on experience and front-line insight into the future of an industry that is continuously changing.” said Mark Silberman, Partner in Benesch’s Health Care & Life Sciences Practice Group, and himself also a former General Counsel to the Certificate of Need Board. “Juan’s insight as to where healthcare regulations have been and where they are going provides invaluable assistance to our clients who are trying to navigate constant changes and an uncertain future. His skills are something our clients can utilize immediately.”
Juan advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, consulting firms, pharmacies, and other clients, helping them to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement industry best practices. Juan also advises clients involved in medical cannabis regulation, competitive bidding processes, property tax exemption litigation, internal and external investigations, structuring competitive strategic alliances and relationships between majority- and minority-owned businesses. Juan assists clients through the federal, state, county and city MBE/WBE/DBE certification and appeal process.

Juan obtained his J.D. in May 2007 from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and his B.A. in History, Minor in American Political Systems in June 2003 from DePaul University.
