Partner Max Guggenheim Named Among Connect CRE’s 2025 Lawyers in Real Estate

December 11, 2025

Benesch is pleased to announce that Real Estate Partner Max Guggenheim has been named to Connect CRE’s 2025 Lawyers in Real Estate list for the Chicago and Midwest region. Now in its sixth year, the program honors commercial real estate attorneys who have made a meaningful impact through their legal work and service to the industry and broader community.

Honorees are selected through a nomination process and evaluated on their professional achievements and industry contributions. The program recognizes 10 attorneys from each of Connect CRE’s regional markets, along with 10 national honorees, including founders, corporate counsel and real estate leaders whose practices span areas such as land use, leasing and specialized finance.

“Max’s recognition is well deserved,” said Benesch Real Estate Chair and Firm Administrative Partner Jeff Wild. “His deep industry knowledge, commitment to client service and ability to navigate complex transactions across office, retail and healthcare leasing make him an invaluable member of our real estate team and a rising leader within the practice.”

Max, a leader in commercial real estate law, advises major office and shopping center owners and operators on lease negotiations with national tenants and counsels international companies on office leasing across the U.S. and Canada, including prior work with the world’s largest consulting firm and a leading infrastructure and design corporation. He focuses on life science and healthcare office leasing (including DSOs and MSOs), corporate leasing related to mergers and acquisitions, as well as retail and industrial leasing.

Max also represents buyers and sellers nationwide in multi-family, retail, agriculture and mixed-use transactions, handling all aspects from contract negotiation to financing review. He has advised a nationally recognized institutional lender on multimillion-dollar commercial loans and represented one of the world’s largest retailers in acquisitions and planned development in Chicago. A member of Benesch’s hiring committee, Max mentors associates, supports inclusion initiatives, participates in law school events on real estate law and is an active ICSC member. His work has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America.
