Overview
Jane brings a strategic and energetic approach to litigation, with experience navigating proceedings across administrative, state and federal courts.
Her practice focuses on representing public utilities in high-stakes energy regulatory matters before commissions and in court. Jane’s experience in the energy sector includes guiding utility clients through complex proceedings such as petitions for certificates of public convenience and necessity, rate cases, consumer complaints, bond issuances, forecast reconciliations, long-term planning and other regulatory litigation. She is an integral part of teams handling the state’s most significant energy regulatory proceedings, ensuring clients achieve their business objectives in a highly regulated environment.
Beyond her work on energy matters, Jane represents clients in eminent domain and real estate disputes, as well as in connection with general commercial litigation matters. She regularly conducts critical legal research, drafts persuasive briefs and memoranda, manages discovery and provides impactful value at every stage of litigation.
Before joining Benesch, Jane honed her advocacy and communication skills in local government, where she supported victims of violence in a public health-advocacy role. She now channels that experience into her client work, combining empathy with a results-driven mindset. Jane also maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing clients in Section 1983 discrimination cases.
