Overview
John has significant experience in commercial litigation. This includes the areas of energy and products liability, both on the plaintiff and defense side and in various state and federal courts across the country. John also has experience handling administrative, appellate, land use, and zoning matters.
John’s products liability experience is broad. It includes defending clients against claims that specific products were defectively designed or unreasonably dangerous in the off-road vehicle, automotive, and pharmaceutical sectors. He also has experience advising clients in connection with their post-sales surveillance programs and their safety claims review programs and drafting and preparing warnings to accompany their products. With respect to his energy practice, John has experience defending against property damage claims arising from the installation of natural gas pipelines. He also regularly interprets and enforces clients’ rights under oil and gas leases, easements, rights-of-way, and condemnation actions. Finally, his commercial litigation experience ranges from breach of contract actions to complex corporate disputes.
John has significant hands-on experience managing all phases of litigation, including initial case intake and evaluation, discovery, preparing fact and expert witnesses, taking, and defending fact and expert depositions, motions practice, arguing in open court, and alternative dispute resolution.
Previously, John served as a law clerk for The Honorable Danny C. Reeves in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
