Juan is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and focuses on complex bankruptcy matters and commercial litigation.

Juan has broad experience representing debtors, official creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, and parties to adversary proceedings in chapter 11 and chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings across the country, including bankruptcy appeals before Federal District Courts. Juan has represented clients in various commercial litigation cases involving breach of contract, foreclosure, corporate law, trade secrets, unfair competition, and breach of fiduciary duty. In addition, Juan works on complex commercial transactions such as mezzanine financing, commercial loans, transfer instruments, and purchase agreements. He has experience in representing clients in a variety of industries, including energy, real estate, transportation, lending, manufacturing, retail, and pharmaceuticals.

Within the Delaware State Bar Association, Juan serves as Secretary of the DSBA's Multicultural Judges and Lawyer Section. Recently, Juan spoke on a panel discussing his experience as an LBGTQ+ attorney of color in Delaware.

Juan is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Delaware.

Representative Experience

  • Represents an investment firm in litigation pending in the New Jersey Superior Court to recover a $70 million loan secured by an office complex in Short Hills, New Jersey. The motion was granted to dismiss several counterclaims filed by the defendant in full, eliminating all the defendants’ defenses to the client’s claims.
