Overview
Ron is a veteran trial lawyer with over 35 years of experience representing Fortune 100 companies, privately held companies and individuals in high stakes, complex litigation.
Ron has a stellar track record of success for his clients in trials, arbitrations and appeals throughout the country. Ron has tried cases in California, Delaware, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. Known as a strategic thinker and pragmatist, Ron achieves client success while also meeting and exceeding client expectations.
Ron’s practice is focused on commercial litigation of all kinds, including defamation, antitrust, fraud, and RICO cases. He has spent over 20 years representing financial services clients in securities and commodities class actions, shareholder derivative litigation and a wide array of regulatory investigations, including those brought by the SEC, CFTC and state securities agencies. Ron enjoys counseling clients in pre-litigation business disputes, such as post-closing disputes or corporate governance concerns, that brings immeasurable value to Benesch clients.

Experience
Represented a Special Litigation Committee in the evaluation of derivative claims seeking hundreds of millions of dollars.*
Representing C suite executive of multinational privately held company on various corporate governance issues.
Represented debtors’ estates in a three-week bench trial in support of substantive consolidation. The case was settled on terms favorable to the client.*
Representing the management of a large real estate investment syndicate in connection with claims relating to tax liabilities of certain limited partnership interests.
Represented a global election technology company in a defamation suit against Newsmax. The trial team secured a favorable settlement for the client on eve of trial.
Represented the outside directors in a securities class action seeking over $1 billion and achieved their dismissal prior to a nine-figure plaintiffs’ jury verdict.*
Represented a regional bank and its association in defense of a 10-count complaint alleging malfeasance in connection with its actions as a co-trustee of a large family trust. The case was dismissed in motion practice.*
Prosecuted federal antitrust claims against a state governing board for youth hockey and four Tier I hockey clubs for enforcing an allegedly illegal restraint limiting Illinois to no more than four Tier 1 hockey clubs. The matter was resolved and the client began operating a new Tier I club.*
Represented a financial services company in the successful defense of a long-running antitrust MDL alleging that credit card issuers conspired to adopt and maintain arbitration provisions with class action waivers in their cardholder agreements. Following a six-week bench trial, the District Court entered judgment for the defendants and the ruling was affirmed by the Second Circuit on appeal.*
Represented a multinational investment bank in a putative class action alleging violations of the Commodity Exchange Act for allegedly manipulating the U.S. Treasury market. Class certification was denied and the case was resolved pursuant to Rule 68 on an individual basis only.*
Represented a client in a highly complex, long-running SEC investigation related to billions of dollars of CDO investments and convinced the government not to file civil charges.*
Represented a multinational investment bank in a putative class action seeking the recovery of postage and handling fees associated with tens of thousands of securities transactions. The First Amended Complaint was dismissed with prejudice on motion and the ruling was affirmed by the Seventh Circuit on appeal.*
Representing a global election technology company in a defamation suit seeking over $2 billion against Fox News and others.
