The high-profile legal dispute began with Lively making accusations of sexual assault against Baldoni and also accusing him of launching a smear campaign against her. Baldoni, in turn, countersued, alleging defamation and extortion.
Regarding the defamation claims, Caitlin noted: “They have to point to which statements they think were false, what establishes they were statements of fact and not opinion, and show they’re not subject to some privilege.”
