Alyson Waite Quoted in Plastics News on Using AI for Workplace Safety
August 12, 2025
Alyson Waite, an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group and a member of the AI Commission, was quoted in Plastics News discussing how manufacturers are beginning to integrate AI technologies, such as vision-enabled cameras and wearable devices, into safety programs to help reduce workplace injuries and workers’ compensation costs.
“Workplace injuries are very expensive, and what’s going to be happening is companies who use these types of technologies to prevent workplace injury are going to be able to drive innovation in their workspaces more easily than those who have to spend money on workers’ comp insurance,” Alyson said.
She added, “This type of technology can track risk patterns, and it can show you trends of unsafe, ergonomic worker behaviors. It’s a huge opportunity for employers because once they see this type of data, they can put in place preventative measures before the injuries even occur.”
