Chicago Tribune Names Benesch a 2025 Top Workplace in Chicago
November 18, 2025
Benesch is proud to announce that the firm has been recognized as a 2025 Top Workplace® in Chicago by the Chicago Tribune. This marks the fifth consecutive year the firm has received this honor, with Benesch ranking #12 out of 63 midsize employers on this year’s list. This meaningful recognition reflects the firm’s strong culture and ongoing commitment to supporting, empowering and investing in its people.
The Top Workplaces awards are based entirely on employee feedback gathered through a confidential third-party survey administered by Energage, a leading employee engagement technology provider. The survey measures key drivers of workplace satisfaction, including feeling respected, enabled to grow and empowered to execute. Organizations are selected for cultivating people-first cultures where employees feel valued, supported and inspired.
“We’re honored to once again be named a Top Workplace in Chicago,” said Manish Mehta, Chicago Office Partner-in-Charge. “Chicago has been a cornerstone of our growth and success, and we’ve been intentional about maintaining the same sense of collegiality, collaboration and shared purpose that defined us when we opened in 2015. Our culture is rooted in working together relentlessly to help our clients succeed, and that’s what continues to make this office, and this firm, such a special place to be.”
“This recognition is deeply meaningful because it reflects the voices of our people,” said Benesch Chief Human Resources Officer Liz Gillmore. “To be named a Top Workplace speaks to the strength of our culture and the intentional way we invest in our talent. We’re building a firm where people feel seen, heard and valued, and we’re committed to growing in ways that reflect and reinforce those values.”
Benesch’s Chicago office has quickly become one of the fastest-growing firms in the city, expanding by more than 130% in just the past five years. With 150 attorneys, the firm has built a deep bench of high-caliber talent, many of whom have joined from leading BigLaw firms. Attorneys consistently cite Benesch’s entrepreneurial spirit, collegial culture and freedom to shape their practices to better serve clients as key reasons for making the move.
With an industry-leading lateral retention rate, Benesch continues to be recognized for its workplace culture. Earlier this year, the firm was named a 2025 Top Workplace in New York, San Francisco and Cleveland. Benesch was also included on the list of the 2025 Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces in America, receiving 15 additional distinctions from Best Practice Institute (BPI).
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
