Lauren Tortorella Joins Benesch as Associate

Benesch announces that attorney Lauren Tortorella has joined the firm as an associate. 

Tortorella is joining the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group in the Chicago office. She has experience representing Fortune 500 companies in complex commercial litigation as well as brand and generic pharmaceutical companies in patent infringement litigation. Before entering private practice, Lauren worked with the International Rescue Committee, where she guided international political refugees through the complex process of legally resettling in the United States. Tortorella graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2016 and from the University of Virginia in 2011.  While in law school, she externed for the Honorable Matthew Kennelly, of the Northern District of Illinois and served as editor of the Michigan Journal of Race & Law.

Tortorella’s hiring reflects continued momentum for Benesch, which has been growing aggressively in Chicago and expanding its national footprint as part of a strategic plan launched by Gregg Eisenberg, the firm’s Managing Partner and Executive Committee Member, in 2015.

In all, more than 70 attorneys have joined the firm in the last 18 months, which has also seen the opening of a San Francisco office and the addition of nationally recognized attorneys handling complex commercial litigation, class action defense, intellectual property disputes, and labor and employment issues. Since making its debut on the AmLaw 200 list in 2016, the firm has advanced 15 places and is currently ranked at number 180.
