M&A Attorney Michael F. Marhofer Joins Benesch as Co-Chair of its Corporate & Securities Practice Group

Benesch is pleased to announce that the firm is continuing its rapid growth and is expanding its ability to provide sophisticated services to its clients through the addition of Michael F. Marhofer. Mike is joining the firm as a partner and Co-Chair of the Corporate & Securities Practice Group, and will be a member of Benesch’s Executive Committee. Mike has been serving as Co-Chair of Calfee’s M&A Practice Group.
Benesch Managing Partner, Gregg Eisenberg said, “We are thrilled to have Mike to join our already outstanding Corporate and M&A practices. He has substantial experience with complex corporate transactions of all kinds, and is a great deal making lawyer. Mike is very client focused and has a personality and style which is very desirable to clients.”
Mike has been practicing law for over twenty-five years and focuses his practice on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures in a wide range of industries. His experience with private equity funds helps him assist clients in capital formation matters, including venture and mezzanine capital financings.
“Mike is a great addition to our Corporate practice. His experience will bolster our capabilities. I look forward to the energy and talent he brings and to his co-chairing our department,” said Megan Mehalko, Co-Chair of Benesch’s Corporate & Securitites Practice Group.
Mike is a member of the Cleveland Development Board for Miami University and served on the Advancement Council for The University of Akron College of Business Administration. He also serves and has served on the board of directors and as corporate secretary for several privately-held companies, and the Advisory Board for a private equity fund. Mike received his J.D., magna cum laude, and M.B.A from the University of Akron in 1991 and his B.S. from Miami University in 1987.
Since January 2015, Benesch has welcomed over 70 new attorneys and 29 new employees and opened a new office in Chicago. The strategic addition of these attorneys and offices is another step in executing the firm’s aggressive growth plan and goal to continuously enhance the quality of service provided to clients.
