Benesch is pleased to announce that Daniel Meier has joined the firm as an associate in the Health Care Practice Group . He will work out of the firm’s White Plains office.
Mr. Meier is an Associate with the firm’s Health Care Practice Group. Mr. Meier’s practice focuses on advising hospitals, physicians, ambulatory surgery centers, durable medical equipment companies, pharmaceutical companies and other ancillary service providers on regulatory business issues, transactional matters and advocacy matters. He also counsels managed care clients, insurers, fiduciaries, administrators and self-funded plans.
Mr. Meier regularly counsels clients on a number of regulatory issues, HIPAA, state privacy laws, licensure, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and in the area of fraud and abuse, including, federal and state anti-kickback laws, physician self-referral laws, and the False Claims Act. He has also defended New York and New Jersey hospitals in complex, multi-million dollar False Claims Act cases in the Federal Courts of New York and New Jersey.
In addition, Mr. Meier counsels clients on a number of transactional matters, including healthcare regulatory diligence, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, general business counseling, and negotiation and drafting of contracts, including employment agreements, license agreements, and service agreements.
Mr. Meier received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2006 and his B.A. from New York University in 2002.
