Overview

Carlton represents clients in complex IP litigation matters, including proceedings before federal district courts, the TTAB, and the PTAB. 

His experience includes drafting litigation-related documents, handling discovery and damages issues, and determining invalidity positions. He also has prosecution experience across the patent lifecycle, from legal opinions on patentability to preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications.

His experience spans a wide range of industries and technologies, including surgical implants, aircraft systems and components, mechanical and medical devices, and artificial intelligence.

Before becoming an attorney, Carlton worked as an Aerospace Engineer with the Department of Defense (NAVAIR), the National Institute for Aviation Research, and interned at NASA.
